Amazing 2 night stay
Amazing 2 night stay at the woodland oaks as a family with our dog, the site was beautiful and quiet, if you want a nearly wild campsite this the one! Showers were hot and lots of toilets and water points throughout the site- the kids loved the tree swings! The nearby forest was stunning and we went in the best goat walk with Hannah! We will come back

Fantastic
We loved it. So peaceful and private. The area we had for our tent was massive. Showers were great, toilets as advertised.

Second stay already planning the third!
This is our second stay at wild woodland retreat and it was even better then last time. We stayed at Woodland Sunny Glade, it’s a huge pitch and it feels like you’re the only ones around. Surrounded by woods which my son and nephew loved it’s safe and quiet. Hannah and Mark are great hosts and lovely to chat to. We picked blackberrys in the farm lanes, walked to tea rooms, went to the beach, toasted marshmallows, paddled in stream. You name a British summer time stereotype we did it and all with short drives of the site . It’s as close as wild camping that you can get with toilets and showers and the exact screen free holiday we wanted. It makes you slow down not having everything in demand and it’s exactly what we needed. We will be back again next year! Already can’t wait. Thank you Hannah and Mark 😊

This is a lovely campsite. We choose Woodlands Oak and it was perfect!! Large pitch beautiful surroundings and very clean and hot showers right at the end of the pitch! It had a lovely rope swings which my kids wanted to be on all the time! It was so peaceful and a nice secluded pitch I would 1000% book again

Retreat by name, retreat by nature....
My wife and I stayed here in August 2026. The shepherd huts are well appointed, with separate huts for the bedroom/kitchen and for the lounge. There's a shaded decking area with a large wooden table, perfect for chilling. There is also a swing seat for two with views of the valley and of the sunset. We had a really relaxing time away from it all. And Hannah and Mark were the perfect hosts, friendly and helpful on arrival, there if you need them but not intrusive if you don't. If you are after a return to nature and a break from the stresses and strains of every day life, I couldn't recommend this highly enough

We will back!
Had a lovely time in the shepherds hut. They were very well equipped and had every we needed. On arrival Mark was fantastic and showed how to get to the huts explained how everything worked and made sure I got the car up the hill! We had some lovely walks and we will definitely back! Thanks

A fabulous, restful weekend; beautiful setting for the shepherds huts.
We’ve just returned from our second weekend stay at Wild Woodland Retreat, staying for two nights in the Valley huts. We stayed with friends, another family, so we were split across the huts and their own tent. We absolutely love staying here. The area is absolutely beautiful, so so peaceful and serene, it has been such a restful break. Our children love the tree swing and having adventures in the farm grounds and woodland. The huts are well equipped with all the essential items you’d need including a small fridge, kitchenette, utensils (so nice to stay somewhere with decent sharp kitchen knives!), fire pit with logs, comfy beds, shower and compost loos. We stayed before when the hut was in the woodland area but the norms from the valley setting are really beautiful. We walked to Elham and enjoyed a lovely lunch at The Kings Arms and stocked up on local produce for a bbq from a local farm shop. On our way home, we popped in and had a lovely lunch at Tadpole Tearoom in Bishopsbourne and stocked up on delicious cheeses at Finnians. A fabulous weekend, thank you!

An awesome way to spend a Sunday morning
My daughter and I visited the Wild Woodland Retreat last weekend. It is set in the idyllic Elham Valley near Folkestone. We had booked to go on a goat walk .What an awesome experience walking out in the beautiful peaceful surroundings with the herd and their two sheep companions while they foraged naturally. It enhanced our experience to hear that all of the goats and the sheep had been rehomed . They weren't just pets they were all members of the family loved and living their best life with the utmost care. Such a haven of peace and relaxation.

An absolute gem in the heart of Kent
Set in the middle of the Kent countryside, wildwood retreat has an abundance of charm and peacefulness. The shepherds hut is located on the side of a small valley at the edge of the site with a stunning view where you can sit on a swing chair under an oak tree and watch the sun set over the hill. If you are looking for somewhere where you want to be left in peace, we saw 2 people the entire weekend walking along the valley. The huts are clean, tidy, fully equipped and are fitted out with modern facilities and a very comfortable bed. The owners are very accommodating and friendly and should be very proud of the experience they provide. Not a single detail has been missed. We are sad to leave but will be back. An absolute gem in the heart of the Kent countryside.
